Neoprene Gaskets*
Chloroprene (Neoprene):
Trade Names: Neoprene (E.l. duPont), Butachlor (Ditsugil), Bayprene
(Mobay)
Moderately resistant to petroleum products. Good Ozone and
weather resistance. Good compression set. Excellent for sealing
refrigeration fluids such as Freon ®.
Temperature range -65o F to +250o F.
Neoprene gasket material comes
in four primary forms; closed cell (wet suit material), open
cell, diaphragm, and homogeneous. Each of these three types have
styles, colors and density variations that make them unique gasket
materials.
